Uttar Pradesh Police STF arrested four officials of Halal Council of India

Four officers of Halal Council of India arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police STF for issuing Halal certificates fraudulently. UP STF arrested Halal COunsil of India's President, Vice President and Treasurer.

Uttar Pradesh(UP) Special Task Force (STF) has arrested four members of the Halal Council of India in Mumbai who were extorting money in the name of Halal certification. The four arrested have been identified as Maulana Mudasir, Habib Yusuf Patel, Anwar Khan and Mohammad Tahir.

On Monday, the UP STF arrested the president, vice-president, general secretary and treasurer of the Halal Council of India in Mumbai. On November 23, an FIR was registered against the person who cheated by issuing Halal certificate at Hazratganj Kotwali, Lucknow. The investigation of the case has been handed over to the STF.

The four arrested accused were collecting lakhs of rupees for issuing halal certificates on behalf of Halal Council of India in Mumbai. They used to get Rs.1,000 to Rs.10,000 for each product for issuing certificates. UP STF is now investigating where the funding received by the council is used.
